"Happiness is a direction, not a place." ~ Sydney J Harris
After almost 14 months of living in the thriving metropolis of Forty Fort, Pa., I am moving back to Portland, Ore. on Thursday, July 27. While this was a tough decision for me to decide to move, I realized this was the right decision for me whenI sat down and weighed the pros and cons.
I lived in Portland from June 2001 to June 2005. I have been gone just over a year and realized recently how much I missed my life in Portland. I missed my friends, my co-workers, the weather, Mt. Hood, PGE Park, the Oregon coast and Portland talk radio. I even missed the MAX train! I'm looking forward to re-connecting with friends and enjoying life again in the great northwest.
As for my relocation, Satchel the Cat and I are driving out on Thursday morning. It's about a 3,000 mile trip that should take about 42 hours. We should be in Portland late Saturday night or Sunday morning. I had wanted to put my items on a moving van, but I did not have enough volume. So, I'm shipping a few items via the US Postal Service and taking the other items in my 2004 Cavalier. It should be an interesting trip.
