Talk about a small world. I worked the first and second rounds of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament this year in Spokane, Wash. Although I did not have a ton of time to watch most of the six games, it was great to see Winthrop knock off Notre Dame, 74-64, in the first round.
I used to work in Fort Mill, S.C., which is just up the road from Rock Hill, S.C., the home of Winthrop. It turns out that Maggie Marshall, the daughter of Winthrop coach Gregg Marshall, takes riding lessons at the Anne Springs Close Greenway, which is the same place where I learned to ride. I had the chance to meet Maggie and her mom following Winthrop's loss to Oregon. She's a great young lady and I'm glad she and her family are able to enjoy the Greenway.
